Question by Ari: I have an interview with Disneyland tomorrow afternoon for Travel Reservation. What does this position entail?
I was recently terminated from Costco after 6 yrs of employment. I have good customer service skills and have worked various departments throughout the where house. I randomly applied at Disney for a Travel Reservations position. Does anybody know what I would be doing? And what part of the park I would be working? ALSO- I need some helpful Interview tips! Im a little nervous.

Best answer:

Answer by dougeebear
Sounds like call center work to me. You’d be assisting and entering people’s travel reservations: hotel bookings, airfares, restaurant reservations perhaps. Not sure you’d even be at the park, but if you were it would probably be behind Disneyland in the Team Disney Anaheim building.

Calm Enthusiasm is your best bet. Relate your customer service experience and how much you enjoyed it.

Answer by Christian T
there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it’s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online… otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

I am trying to get my passport. Already applied, but they ask for a legalized marriage certificate of my parents who were married in Indonesia in 1955 and for a legalized birth certificate from the Netherlands where I was born in 1960. I live in Wisconsin, what to do? I need it by Nov. 1st to go on the Queen Mary to UK and then to Germany?

Best answer:

Answer by Steve
No you can’t travel without a passport and you seem to know what you need to do to obtain one. Not sure what else you can do.

Question by Angel101: His family doesn’t have money for our destination wedding?
Our whole play was to get married on the beach, only invite our closest friends (bridal party) parents, siblings & grandparents. Then stay the rest of the week there for our honeymoon. When we get back my parents wanted to throw us a Welcome home they new Mr & Mrs BBQ picnic. No gifts just dancing fun & drinking.

My fiance talked to his mom the other night on the phone. He finally told me tonight that his mom, & 2 sisters don’t think they will have the money to come to our destination wedding. Plus on top of it his grandparents don’t think they will either. His grandma (who I highly HIGHLY dislike) also added its very rude of us to expect our guest to come, pay their travel & pay for their own hotel. & its even ruder for my parents to throw us a welcome home picnic with out asking his side of the family!
Besides crying for the last half hour! What the heck do we do now?

I have spent countless hours calling hotels getting the best price, finding some one to marry us at the best price/value. I already bought a beachy wedding dress. Had my brides maids dressed picked out. (short beach dresses). Already made plans with our bridal party for the date. We aren’t getting married till October 2011! I wanted to give people a ton of time to plan! My mom has already paid the non refundable deposit for the hall for the BBQ (we can’t get married there isn’t against their policy) What do we do now?
His family is invited to the BBQ we gave my mom the list of who we wanted invited. His grandma just thinks she should be the 1 throwing it. That means no drinking. Maybe 50 people max Nothing of what we want. Just so she can say she did it!
We picked the wedding we did to say money!
I would never ask my fiance to give up his family being there since his father just pasted away 9 months ago.
I love his family…just not his grandma.
He hates his grandma too! She has no problem telling her grandkids & children all their flaws but tells them she is perfect. The problem with her is. No one else in the family stood up to her.
The worse part is up till a week ago his mom & grandma didn’t even ask our wedding date. We have been engaged for almost 5 months.

We are planning an October wedding. Myrtle beach is in the 70s anything more north it maybe snow!

His grandparents go there twice a year but “won’t have the money to move their trip a little later in the year.”
* extra info!

Thanks for everyone answers this info wouldn’t fit in the info box.
I have told his grandma to piss off. That is why we don’t get along. No one else had stood up to her. I don’t come from a family where we let people hurt us with out letting them know!!! If you read any of my other post. We were iffy if we even wanted his grandparents invited. I see why NOW! I’m going to say no to his grandma hosting us a party! 1 is enough people don’t need to go to 1-3 events for our wedding that is selfish on our part. We have our guest list. Take it or leave it!

Best answer:

Answer by MaryMary
You are under no obligation to pay for his mom sisters and grandparents. When you choose a destination wedding you give up getting to have a large wedding as many can not afford to attend.

If this upsets your husband I would consider offering to help with there costs. Also it is EXTREMELY rude of your family to exclude his family in the after party. Way to start that one off

Question by Vrooom: Anyone Know where to find the 5 point harness converter for a car.. portable for travel? Not a seat..?
I had some clients from Europe and they told me they bought theirs somewhere in the states a few years ago, but can’t remember where. Its got a triangle padded thing that goes over the chest and a similar one over the back. It converts any seatbelt into a 5 point harness system. I know it doesn’t take the place of a carseat, but we’ll be doing some travelling soon and may need to hop in some taxis or buses and it is safer than the regular seat belt.

We checked babies r us and walmart. Anyone know what I’m talking about? I can’t figure out what to search for in the search engines either.

Thanks

Answer by BraxOwl
One Step Ahead (.com) had them previously, but I looked for it recently and could not find it.

I believe it is made by Costco. I can not recall the name of it at the moment-sorry.

EDITED TO ADD: It is made by Cosco, not Cos(t)co, and it is called the Tote ‘n Go. There is one available on eBay right now. I am not certain if this is what you are referring to or not, but it was advertised by One Step Ahead several years ago as a travel option-it gives you the safety of the child being secure without hte bulkiness. It can fold right into a diaper bag. I hope this helps!

Question by l: Hotel in Boston with good location to/from…?
Traveling there end of April with boyfriend, a present for his bday/college graduation.

We’ll be going to Fenway Park for sure. We’d like to to the Sam Adams brewery tour, see the aquarium, and visit historical places too like the JFK Library.

Can you tell me a good, cheaper hotel that’d be close to these things? Either in walking distance, cab, rail?

Thnx!!

Best answer:

Answer by Hank
Try the Buckminster. It is practically across the street from Fenway Park. Practically everything else is reachable by subway.

Another option: The Club Quarters Hotel, on Devonshire Street. Centrally located downtown. Again subways radiate outward to all the sights.

The Buckminster is a rehabbed older hotel. Club Quarters is
a converted office building.

There are several other choices, which I assume other Answerers will inform you about.
