I used it a few times with our Cub Scouts and we did pretty well. The beef jerky sells like crazy.

    1) Sell Maps that you can use markers that will erase.
    2) Create puzzle maps for children to learn their Geography.
( I could use one ) *smiles* I guess I am like a bee. lol
    3) Create a question and answer book on geography …for travel.

    Best of luck
PS. you can do the same ole same ole ..sale subs…I just don’t see what that has to do with geography.

    1) Set up a song dedication booth on a busy street
    2) Coffee or hot chocolate with whipped cream on top looks delicious, is easy to make, doesn’t cost much and sells really well.
    3) Consolidate everything about places of the world you learnt in Geography and set up booths where people who will tell you about themselves, and you will advise them on what sort a place they would be happiest living in (have a time limit for each consultation so that it’s fair). This will be very very fun and who knows? You might change someone’s life for the better.
    4) The traditional car-wash idea will probably raise you a considerable sum.

You could pick one of the ideas above, or have a funfair and combine them all. On the side, having everyone from the class do odd jobs at home or in your respective neighbourhoods would help too.

Good luck! I am a Geography student myself and I love travelling. ^^

cake sale always earns money because people just couldn’t resist sweet things. you might even want to sell some chocolates too.

Have an “Around the World” dinner. Nothing fancy but a few different dishes from different countries. (You can do Mexican and Italian for pretty cheap…)

    Charge $5 a plate.

When in high school we ” hired” ourselves out for odd jobs such as raking leaves, cleaning, babysitting etc. The money went to our class project. Mostly it was family and friends that “hired”us. It went really well and we earned a lot of money. We had a chaperon “parent” that went along when it wasn’t a family member. This was over a 6 months time period. We grocery shopped for people, helped clean out a garage for another, …. etc.

One local restaurant hired some of the guys to be door greeters for a night. They dressed in borrowed tuxedo’s… it was a riot !! The restaurant donated 1% of the daily sales to our cause besides what they paid the guys for working.

We didn’t want to sell anything as everyone was doing that. Another group did the car wash thing as their project and our Mom’s said no bake sales. I thought we were pretty clever with our idea.
    Good luck !|!

I went to WalMart and spent $5 on a roll of tickets (the double kind) and set up a booth at my son’s Harvest Festival carnival. They sold for $1. ea. or $5. for 6. We sold to raise $ for 8th gr. graduation dance & trip. Raised $103. in about 4 hours with not a lot of people attending. It was a 50/50 Raffle (1/2 for the winner, 1/2 for the 8th grade) and the person who won was an 8th grade mom…she donated her winning half back to the class! The more you sell, the bigger the pot gets…good luck. By the way, if you do the math on the split, it came out to $51.50…CRAZY Huh!
