I’m thinking about going to Cheq republic then take the train to Austria then to Amsterdam. Does anyone know how long it will take to get there? And do you know if there are decent hotel to stay but not too expensive? Thanks.

You should check out eurail.com. They have a ton of different choices that will fill you needs, with costs, etc. Different packages include different countries. You have to buy the pass in the states though.

    Best hotels (price/quality) in Prague abaka.com, can be trusted used them 5 times. In Amsterdam don’t book in advance they deal cheap hotels for same night all day opposite the railway station (usually on top of pubs). In Austria usually more expensive, try octopus.com

    For trains in western Europe buy eurailpass.com for the period you need in Cheq and east buy tickets at stations (much cheaper). Regular prices in west are quite high as you can see on db.de often consider flying if you don’t have eurailpass.
