Adam’s bus is going 145mph and Mike’s is going 125 mph. I hope that’s right.

adam’s -145 mph
mike’s – 125 mph
hope ur not using this to cheat on some test or something! ;p haha
They got 90 miles apart in each hour (270miles รท 3h).
a + (a-20) = 90
2a = 110
a = 55
Adam’s bus went 55 miles in one hour (55m.p.h) and Mike’s was 35 m.p.h (20 slower).
Think about it this way.
Speed of Mike’s Bus = M
Speed of Adam’s Bus = A
A = M + 20 (because adam is going 20mph faster).
h = number of hours.
Distance between two busses = h*M + h*A
= 3(M+A) = 3(M + M + 20)
3(M + M + 20) = 270
6M + 60 = 270
6M = 210
M = 35 mph
Then solve for A and you get
A = 55 mph
20 mph x 3 + distance apart Which will make the busses equal distance away from the terminal divided by 3 hours adams bus is going that fast mikes bus is going 20 mphs less.
so 60 plus 270 = 330/ by the nmber of busses 2 = 165 divided by the number of hours 3 = 55 so
Adams bus was going 55 and mikes bus was going 20 mph less so 35 mps… if you do it backwards you`ll get 270.. 55mph x 3hours= 165 than 35mph x 3 = 105.. so totals added together 165 plus 105.. equals 270. the 1st two ppl are wrong.
this is probebly homework or something to do with a lesson the teacher has asked you to go find the answere so am not telling you
