They are bored and just wanna have fun. I think they laugh the most when they hear these people relay their stories to the rest of us. lol

because they are least likely to escape , and probably nobody would miss them.
They are intergalactic teenagers playing pranks.
If they abducted smart upstanding reliable people, then others would be more likely to agree that they exist. So they keep abducting goofballs so that they can continue their exploration of our land
. Either that or they just have a sense of humor, kind of like news reporters who pick the craziest looking, most uneducated person to report what they saw to the world in a disaster.
They share that trait with the local news cast that has the ability to pick out the most articulate handsome well dressed folks to do their news interview with(wink)
