Travel/Tourist ideas for Germany, Switzerland, France, etc.?
Question by Daniel F: Travel/Tourist ideas for Germany, Switzerland, France, etc.?
I will be taking a 3 week trip to Busingen, Germany, and I have 3 day weekends to travel 4 different countries. I was thinking Germany, Switzerland, France and probably Italy. I am interested mostly in WWII types of things…don’t really care about the Eiffel Tower. I also usually like hole-in-the-wall kinds of things which most people dont care about.
I need some good, but probably cheap ideas of places to visit!

The enclave of Busingen owns both sides of the Rhein..There are WWII bunkers on the river on the other side of the Rhein..While in Busingen go to the Gasthaus Kranz..If Susi Zabel (the owner) is on she will allow you to read a hefty book on the enclave’s history ..Be sure to visit the local wineyard for some wine & schnapps..!!..While you are in Switzerland/Busingen you should also go visit Liechtenstein and then Austria is only 15mins away from Vaduz!! ..Also go to the south and near Lugano go to Campione d’Italia, the Italian enlave in Switzerland..Then you can say that you were in Italy as well! If you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay in Zurich you can NOT beat the Hotel/Restaurant Banhoff in Glattsbrugg, breakfast included and cheaper than hostels such has The Otter in central Zurich.
