Question by : Is it safe to take children to Florida?
Every time I turn on the news I always hear about an Amber Alert happening in Florida. I was planning a trip to Florida and was going to bring my kids but now I’m wondering if it’s safe to take children to Florida? Are there any special precautions I should take when travelling with children in Florida?

Just keep an eye on your kids. Florida is a great place to go! Remember to watch them, just in case. And don’t forget the sunscreen ;D

I just got back from Disney and I have to admit I had my guard up as well. Just don’t take your eyes off of your children and all of you will be fine.

The biggest concern is with all of the myopic senior citizens driving on the streets and causing accidents followed by alligator and shark attacks. If those things don’t get you then it will be the giant rats or bloodthirsty disease carrying mosquitoes. Just kidding Florida is the land of mickey mouse, white sands, and orange blossoms. The level of risk is no higher than any other American state.

Like any other State or City, you need to watch your kids. Most Amber alerts are for residents.

Well. Your children are just as in danger of being kidnapped or placed in harms way in Florida as anywhere else. Wherever you go it would be generally a good idea to keep tabs on them.
Not trying to be mean but it’s the same question as asking
“Is it safe to take children to _____?”
It doesn’t matter. They are in as much danger in Florida as they are in your neighborhood.
    My advice:
    - is to keep them with you.
    -Give them an extra cellphone.
-Make sure that they know about “Stranger Danger”
-Be prepared just in case. It’s a crazy world we live in and expect the worst.

Do all that and you should have a safe, fun and productive trip.

florida is a wonderful place– i go there all the time. it is not dangerous like a foreign country, but there are a few things you should watch out for. first of all, keep an eye on your kids. use sunscreen so they don’t get burnt and always watch them wherever they go, especially on the beach. there’s always a slight chance of sharks and jelly fish in the shore and also riptides, or even drowning. just keep an eye on your kids and you will have a great time. just relax and enjoy yourself! if florida wasn’t safe, i wouldn’t go there a few times a year.
