you certainly don’t want to do it in winter, but it’s snow free in summer, even at the Arctic circle… so yeah, have fun
bring a mosquito net, it’s one of the most mosquito infested places in the world

Biggest problem will be food. Most backpackers take the train from one of the cities then backpack the mountain. You can carry just so much food and you cannot be out there to long. The distances between populated areas is great.
