What was your worst air travel experience?
Question by Aly: What was your worst air travel experience?
It’s probably stupid for me to ask, considering flying is my biggest fear (even though I fly all the time). But I’m just curious what sorts of things have happened to people while in the air. I’ve never experienced terrible turbulence, but even regular turbulence freaks me out. I had an aborted landing at the beginning of the month, so I guess that’s my worst.
**I’m not interested if you’ve been stuck in an airport for a day or have lost your luggage, that happens to everyone…I’m curious about bad experiences DURING a flight.

it happened once there was a storm upon landing and there was really heavy turbulence that some peoples bags were thrown and they didn’t serve anything to drink like Coffee or anything just in case it dosent spill during the turbulence
P.S wasn’t me on the flight
What do you think? Answer below!
This is going is going to sound lame ( because it wasn’t an issue at all) but once during take off I noticed smoke coming in from all the vents. Time literally stood still. All I could think was ” I can’t believe this is happening to me”. I then closed my eyes and waited for death. It sounds so dramatic, but that’s exactly how I felt. I’m not even scared of flying. After a while, I noticed that I didn’t smell any smoke. I opened my eyes and looked around and noticed the smoke was still rushing in, but nobody was even noticing. It was a short flight and an hour later we landed. The first thing I did was look it up. I wasn’t sure if it was smoke anymore. And it wasn’t. It was condensation. I felt so stupid, more so because I fly often and apparently this is a regular occurrence ( in humid climates). I guess I never noticed it before since I’m always reading or looking out the window.
Here is a video of what it looked like ( not my video. i just found one on youtube):

I have experienced turbulence on my flights before and it seemed as though we dropped a bit, but those are common occurrences and I don’t even remember what flight it was on.
For my parents, it was interesting. They were on a Singapore Airlines flight that left Singapore and would stop in Taiwan before continuing on to Los Angeles. There was a lot of turbulence due to storms and the TV screen on my mom’s personal entertainment system would go off and then come back on. My dad asked the flight attendant if they were going to divert to Hong Kong but was told these storms were nothing. The landing wasn’t smooth but at least they were on the ground. When my parents got home from the airport and turned on the news, they found that their flight which was to go to L.A. took off from a closed runway, hit some construction equipment and burst into flames.
The worst experience on an airplane is dealing with arrogant flight attendants
