Give me your predictions for these tours which will be played in the year 2009. Just the Test Matches
West Indies vs England- (4 Tests)
South Africa vs Australia- (3 Tests)
New Zealand vs India- (3 Tests)
The Ashes- (5 Tests)
Sri Lanka vs Pakistan- (3 Tests)
South Africa vs England (4 Tests)
India vs Sri Lanka- (3 Tests)

The Ashes- Australia still look to be a stronger team. But wouldn’t be surprised if England win. It could be very close.

India vs Sri Lanka- India, as MBTM said, India are used to Mendis now. They won’t have a huge problem picking him.
It is always best to give the prediction just before the start of the series because we will then know the form of the players and also the players themselves who will play.
However, my assessment of current form based on all test matches which were played between Jan-Dec,08 is given below:

Sri Lanka – 5 matches – 97.5 marks – Net Runs 28
New Zealand – 14 matches – 92.6 marks – Net Runs 1
India – 12 matches – 92.1 marks – Net Runs 33
Australia – 11 matches – 91 marks – Net Runs (-) 18
England – 12 matches – 90.6 marks – Net Runs (-) 53
West Indies – 7 matches – 86.6 marks – Net Runs (-) 76
Bangladesh – 9 matches – 75.3 marks – Net Runs (-) 93
From the above, see the WI-Eng, situation. It indicates win for England.
South Africa vs Australia – win for SAF
NZL vs Ind – India’s batting is very strong (net runs – the runs made per test match less the runs conceded per test match – is 33) but NZL’s team performance shows higher marks meaning that their finishing is better. Here, there is no clear winner as form just before the match should be seen alongwith the team composition. Hence let us say this is a draw situation.
The Ashes – Here also the situation is similar to NZL-Ind situation. For the time being let us say that this is a draw.
SAF vs Eng: SAF will win the series.
India vs SRL: Similar to NZL v Ind and Aus v Eng situation. A draw.
But on the day of the test match, once we know the names of 22 players, we can see who would win. Until then, the above is a good estimate.
