Both Tamil Nadu and Kerala are natural reserves of intense beauty. Just being there is invigorating. There are loads of temples to visit, and many nature reserves, especially up in the hills between Tamil and Kerala, Coomali, theckadi, Ootacamund, and so on, but I suggest exploring the areas by local jeep. You can hire a jeep and a driver quite cheaply and they will know exactly where to take you. Beaches are beautiful on both coasts. Oh, one very special place – Ramaswaram – right out on the tip of coast that reaches out to Sri Lanka, Tamil Nadu, is an incredible place.
