Taj Mahal: A Muslim’s Labor of Love or a Labor of Insanity?
Question by NONAME: Taj Mahal: A Muslim’s Labor of Love or a Labor of Insanity?
I visited the Taj Mahal a few years ago and learned something horrific about it…
Did you know that the Muslim (Mughal) Emperor Shahjahan who commissioned the structure for one of his favorite wives had the hands cut off of all the laborers along with the right hand of the chief architect so that no one would ever be able to build such a marvelous monument again?
It was at that moment that I realized the Taj was no longer a labor of love as so often described, but rather, a labor of insanity!
TRUE? —–Well, there were many ancient, governmental recordings of the account to which the Islamic tour guides referred to while we were touring the marble structure. All I can say is that the Muslims who were our guides that day believed the account to be accurate.
