I am applying for USA work permit through a local agent who promised to issue the WP within 12 working days here in Mumbai, India.I have few queries, I was working in Dubai, UAE where i had a personal loan of AED 17000.00 & a credit card which has outstanding of AED 15000.00. I want to know whether this will create any issue for me to travel to USA. I came back from UAE in April 2010. I have no plan of running away from this amount. I want to earn good money so that I can pay back within a years time so that I get a clean chit. Second main query is I have left the country without cancelling my resident visa. Will this create a fuss as well… Anyone with experience or knowledge kindly advise some way outs. Appreciate your help. Thank you

Sounds like you’re being ripped off. A USA work permit has to be applied for by your Employer in the USA. No external agent can do it. Only if the vacancy cannot be filled by a US citizen can the company recruit abroad so that’s unlikely unless you have exceptional skills. Remember that in the USA the unemployment rate is over 10% so filling vacancies is easy.

You are not able to receive an UAE police clearance certificate which is required for each USA immigrant visa applicant. Therefore your visa to USA will be denied.
