Taj Mahal of India- a creation of love or evidence of public torture?
Question by The Falcon: Taj Mahal of India- a creation of love or evidence of public torture?
Taj Mahal is branded as the symbol of love created by the Mughal Emperor, Shahjahan. But history says that to fulfill the ‘useless’ dream of the emperor of making such a white elephant, enormous taxation and tortures were imposed on the common citizen to pay for it.
The emperor himself sacrificed or contributed almost nothing for this creation. Taj Mahal was build up on public money and public lives obviously who had no feeling of love for the expired wife of the emperor. I wonder, how could such a ‘tombstone’ be a ‘symbol of love’?

Its just a building.
well any extraordinary piece of art requires work….being a king it could not have been possible for him to construct it all by himself…….therefore he asked the ppl to work 4 him……i jus can digest the fact that he didn’t contribute towards it…..in the first place it was his idea to construct one for his wife……..n im sure those costly marbles n stones could not have been sponsered by d ppl……..it was a torture to the citizens to construct it ofcourse..but as for his wife it was nothing but love……ppl burst crackers n enjoy during diwali…………do they realise that they’re taking the lives of many children?………in the same way he did it for the sole aim of pleasing his wife n showing it as a symbiol of love……it was common for the king to ask his subjects to work 4 him….however it is a wonderful piece of work n india is well-known mainly bcoz of dat………so it was a gud thing he did afterall!!!!
