Q&A: What is the best place to travel in India in the Himalayas?

Question by Ian w: What is the best place to travel in India in the Himalayas?
I am not sure if I should go to the small area by Bangladesh in the mountains, or it I should go up in the Himachal Pradesh area. I will go in late November, so I assume it will be cold. Which area, or village has the least amount of tourists.

If you going by Kolkota, darjeeling and Gangtok are good

If you choose Himachal Pradesh…. Simla – Kulu – Manali – Delhousie and Dharamshal are great.

If you go to UP/Jharkhand area…. Masoori – Nainital Almora – Kausani and Ranikhet are great.

If you DARE(As you know the issues around this area) to goto Kashmir… Pahalgam – Gulmarg – Sonmurg – Kargil and Leh ae the great.

Kargil and Leh will have fewest tourist as they are hard to reach. Kashmir will also have fewer tourists as terrorism is an issue.

First decide which corner you want to explore.

HIMALAY is very long mountain range.

    Hi,
I guess the best options for hill stations in North India will be among the 2 already mentioned by Raja i.e. Himachal and Uttarakhand.
If you are looking for a peaceful natural destination Uttarakhand will be the best option. For November, you may visit Nainital, Binsar, Kausani, Ranikhet and Corbett National Park.
Whereas for Himachal, Manali (for skiing) and Dharamsala (monastery) are the main attractions. But Himachal Pradesh has lots of tourist throughout the year -specially weekend tourists from Punjab.
